Artist Statement

I photograph the places where time becomes visible.

We move through landscapes as though they belonged to us. Yet they were here long before we arrived, and they will remain long after we are gone.

What interests me is not the event itself, but what survives it. The traces left by human presence. The uses that quietly disappear. Buildings that linger for a while. Roads that continue to cross landscapes that have fallen silent.

My photographs begin in the real world, yet they seek less to describe it than to reveal the depth of time it contains. Situated somewhere between documentary and fiction, they question the way we inhabit the world and the place we occupy within it.

I do not photograph the end of the world. I explore what remains when humanity is no longer at its centre.

Each series is a variation on the same question. Some follow the paths of landscape, others those of memory or fiction. All attempt to make visible what usually escapes our gaze: the slow transformation of places, the persistence of traces, and the silence that follows our presence.

Memory erodes before matter does.
